A Visiting Poet by Leopard and Ender Girl

On February 5th, Ms.Stallings came to visit our classroom. Ms.Stallings is a poet. We read the poems “Jabberwocky” by Lewis Carroll, “The Riddles of Bilbo and Gollum” and “I like to see it lap the Miles” by Emily Dickinson. We also talked about types of poems called kennings and riddles. Then we created poems all together. After, we were asked to make our own just like the ones we made with the whole class. We had a lot of fun and it was an awesome experience.

Thank you Ms.Stallings!!!!

Autumn by Furiousbrotato

Leaves fell on the ground,

Fruit grew big and round.

Kids went out to play,

And had a great day.

The trees dyed their hair,

The color was yellow and brown.

First they looked pretty good,

Then they fell down.

Crunch Crunch!

The leaves went crunch.

It was like a monster eating crackers for lunch.

I saw fifty feet stamping on the ground, then I heard an enormous POUND!

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL & FUN SEASON!!!

My Hamster by Lilly

My hamster’s name is Lilly

And she is very silly.

She likes to run,

To have some fun!!

I put her on my hand,

And she sniffs my hair band.

Sometimes though she eats my furry shirt.

Oh no… ALERT ALERT!!!!

Though when she falls asleep,

I mean very, very deep,

She is very cute.

No matter what

SHE IS A GREAT HAMSTER!!!

GRASS by Pink Fluffy Unicorn

Grass, as green as can be.

Do you feel hurt, when one places a foot?

Your short smooth wonders, creatures living in.

You are like a soft mat keeping us safe from the dirty ground.

I wonder what you eat?

You are the flowers’ base,

During Spring you grow,

The rain is your shelter.
