What clever tricks does Ike use to try and convince his owner to bring him home from obedience school?

  1. Dear Mrs. Kynigou’s class,
I can see that you are working hard for these letters! I think Ike used emphasis, exaggeration, metaphors ,similes, drama, and figurative language.

  2. Dear Ms.Kynigou’s class,

I hope you had a fun time reading and writing persuasive letters. It is very good to know how to write a persuasive letter to convince somebody for something you want.

  3. Dear Ms. Kyningou’s class,

Wow I loved your pictures of you working so hard trying to find persuasive details in Ike’s letters. Hope you show more stuff you do in class.

  4. Dear class,
We had lots of fun working in groups on the letters and posters. Ike used blackmail, hyperbole (exaggeration), similes, drama, and more. We all had such a fun time reading the book too, trying to infer what was going on and predicting what would happen in the story. I couldn’t believe that reading a picture book would be so much fun! 5th grade is AWESOME!
